![]() ![]() I definitely felt bad for taking a long time (it didn’t help that the line was slowly growing behind me), but she didn’t rush me or anything. She was patient with me as she took my order. I had a really good experience here! Unfortunately I didn’t catch one of their names, but I definitely remember Tyler (more on him later). The lady who took my order was super sweet and nice. But the food is so good I am only deducting 1 star. The atmosphere really needs a huge update and should pull my rating even lower. As good as the food is the decor makes me want to go someplace else.Overall 4 stars. Please do something to make the dining experience better. Feels dark and in dire need of a makeover. When I was last here 6 years ago the decor was shabby and tired. Came to the table to check on us and got the check quickly when we asked.Atmosphere - this is where they need some drastic improvement. But the server was the only server there at the time and also did the bartending. A little slow to get our first two beers we ordered. I will not be getting tap beer here next time.Service - Overall happy. They had some off flavors that were with due to stale beer in the keg or tap lines are not as clean as they should be. We ordered a few beers, they were not fresh tasting. But I was more than satisfied so no issues there.Drinks - A little disappointed. Portions have gotten a little smaller than they used to be. I am glad they still use chicken thigh meat. Egg rolls were great and the panang curry with chicken was like stepping back in time. The food was fantastic just as I remember. Used to come here more often but for some reason it had been 6 years since I was last here.Food - this is where they shine the most. Sawatdee and Zushiya 7885 Main St N, Maple Grove I declined to use the restroom, other than to wash my hands and thankfully there was a nice dining area attendant that told us to ask if we needed anything and happily wiped down a table for us. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the bathrooms and dining room tables needed more attention. All the portions were perfect, generous but not too much. ![]() I ordered onion rings, which came out super crunchy (a plus in my book) and a small chocolate cake shake that was so good and definitely more than I could finish after my meal. The meat is so tender and sliced paper thin, the peppers add the perfect amount of flavor and the bread was soft but held up well. I had the regular Italian beef sandwich, dry, with the sweet and hot peppers. The Greek salad actually has Kalamata olives (not just black olives like most places try to get away with) and the garlic vinaigrette is quite good, not super garlicky I highly recommend it. We were there late in the afternoon and the dining room was about 60% full with no wait to order. The food, decor and general vibe are awesome, not your average sandwich shop. Portillo's Maple Grove 12251 Elm Creek Blvd N, Maple Grove What a surprise to also find a big bottle of Sri Racha on the table! We also got the Lotus wings- excellent spiced wings!I didn't know there was a Vietnamese restaurant in Downtown Maple Grove until I saw Uncle Roger go there! I thought the only Asian fare there was the Thai fusion restaurant on Main St, so we almost always end up leaving Maple Grove and going to nearby Brooklyn Center or Brooklyn Park if we really wanted to eat good Asian food. In fact, my portion was still too big for me! I got the Imperial dish (lemongrass, Paprika and onions plus protein of choice) and my sister got the Garlic Sauce (veggies stir fried with garlic sauce and choice of meat.) They were both very flavorful, and not like the generic Asian fusion stuff. I was craving an egg roll and I was prepared to buy the appetizer but the lunch special came with 1 egg roll, a side of rice or fried rice and an entrée or soup! This is great, especially if you just want to try a small portion of the dish. We came here for lunch time so we had the lunch special which was a good price for all that you get.
